WHAT WE FOCUS ON IN OUR PICKLEBALL CAMPS

Serving | Five Star Pickleball

Serving

In our program, we prioritize the fundamentals of serving and returning, recognizing that these aspects form the foundation of a strong pickleball game.

Below a 4.5 level, many players struggle with their initial positioning, hindering their ability to make a successful serve or return. To address this issue, we provide comprehensive guidance on correct placement, ensuring that players start on the right foot.

Return Serve | Five Star Pickleball

Return Serve

Our program kickstarts the journey to pickleball mastery by teaching the correct setup and positioning for serves and returns.

It's crucial to get these fundamentals right, as they significantly impact a player's overall performance.

Many players struggle with their initial positioning, and our program addresses this issue head-on. You will learn the right techniques and strategies to becoming a better player.

Dinking | Five Star Pickleball

Dinking

At our camps, we go beyond the basics. Our instructors employ a hands-on approach by conducting numerous drills that emulate the techniques employed by professional players.

By participating in these drills, you'll gain the ability to move across the court with precision and agility, just like the pros.

Learn when to cross court dink and when to dink straight in front of you.

3rd Shot Drop | Five Star Pickleball

3rd Shot Drop

The significance of the third shot drop lies in its role as a pivotal move in competitive pickleball.

To excel in your pickleball game, consistent mastery of the third shot drop is essential.

It enables you to seamlessly transition from a defensive court position to a commanding offensive stance, offering a tactical advantage that can be a game-changer.

Speed-ups | Five Star Pickleball

Speed-ups

When should you opt to accelerate the pickleball? It's a common desire to unleash powerful shots and attempt to outpace your opponents.

Nonetheless, it's essential to exercise restraint and select the right opportunity to increase the tempo strategically.

You will learn these techniques in our intermediate Pickleball camps.

Volleys | Five Star Pickleball

Volleys

A volley is where you hit the pickleball out of the air without the pickleball bouncing. Most volleys are hit when you are at the Non-Volley Zone Line.

There are a handful of volleys that you can hit on the pickleball court, which include (1) a block volley; and (2) a punch or swing volley. A block volley is more of a defensive shot.  A punch or swing volley is more of an offensive shot.

Attack Shots | Five Star Pickleball
